SIGNOS
.
SIGNS
Let everything make love to the silence.
They pledged me a silence like fire,
like a house made of silence.
Swiftly the temple becomes a circus,
and the sunlight a tambourine.

Like the poem and all, as usual. The Spanish stuff…how they say something is “like” is como se, as in un fuego. There’s another word for sunlight, but I don’t know off-hand what it is. I think a tambor is a drum, also. Are you getting the Spanish from a translator online? They are very proper in their translations, and don’t give the fine points of the language. I ran up against that the first time I lived in Mexico, that what I’d been taught in Spanish class didn’t work well in conversation. And every country is different. The best mistake I can think of is how people use “Quiero” for I want, and in many Latin American countries it is used for “I want you,” as in a sexual way…which leads to some odd situations. Hope all is well for Michiganders now that the freeze is over, or sort of.
Later…
