I’m so un-cool and out of touch…never saw Tank Girl, only heard of her. Sounds almost like a John Waters kind of thing. Devine – or is it Divine? – can’t star in this one, if somebody can stop him.

Poor Divine! Yes, John Waters has a special gift of simultaneously grossing a person out and getting you to laugh at the same time (I still can’t watch the ending of Pink Flamingos after all these years). Tank Girl was a comic strip from 1990s Australia (I believe, my memory is a but fuzzy on the details) about a young woman and her tank getting into bizarre adventures in the Outback. I had never heard of it state-side, but in my junior year of college I was an exchange student in London and dated a girl who was crazy about it. Then Hollywood made a terrible, terrible movie about her and it went all downhill after that.
